It is okay to leave something for later.
Estimates guide the plan; they do not guarantee it. Give deferred work a place and a time to reconsider it.

A time budget, with room to be human.
Available time − interruption buffer = task budget. Count only time left after fixed commitments, routines, breaks and planning. Allow for each once. A scattered half-hour may suit a short reply better than a difficult draft.
Put your most important task first and estimate the whole action, including preparation and checking. Choose one to three priorities if that suits your day. If the plan runs over, make a task smaller or leave it for later. You decide what matters; this tool only adds up your estimates.
For example, 120 available minutes with a 30-minute buffer leaves 90 minutes for tasks. Estimates of 40, 30 and 20 minutes use that budget exactly.
